Byzantine Music Qualification • Gregorian Music Qualification
The M.A. in Religious Musical Cultures is aimed at students interested in gaining a higher-level knowledge of the phenomenon of sacred chant. The emphasis is on developing skills in the areas of Byzantine and Gregorian musicology, the composition of religious music, and conducting church vocal ensembles.
Over the course of your studies you will be given support in selecting the career path best suited to you and you will be guided towards the musical, teaching, or research choices most relevant to you professionally.
Student life will offer you significant experiences, thanks to opportunities for you to take part not only in symposiums and conferences, but also in concerts by the Psalmodia Byzantine music ensemble and other academic choirs. You will also have the opportunity to access grants to study abroad, via the Erasmus + programme.
As a graduate of the Religious Musical Cultures programme, you will be able to choose among attractive career opportunities in the areas of performance and research into religious chant. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to continue your studies at a higher level within the National University of Music’s Constantin Brăiloiu Doctoral School.
