Internationalization Strategy

As an active member of the European Association of Conservatoires (AEC), National University of Music Bucharest (UNMB) has as main objectives – within its internationalization strategy – the followings:

  • promoting, developing and implementing institutional partnerships in Europe and worldwide;
  • increasing the numbers of international mobility on both levels (students & academic/non-academic staff);
  • coordinating and evaluating European Programs (ERASMUS) and international programs (Fulbright);
  • promoting the university’s educational offer abroad;
  • providing information about UNMB study programs and admission procedures;
  • editing and publishing materials for teaching staff and international students
    internationalization of training programs and educational tasks for young musicians as future professionals;
  • connecting the educational offer with the challenging requirements of the labor market

Main activities carried out:

  • identifying and signing new inter-institutional agreements with international institutions;
  • coordinating, promoting, developing and disseminating international mobility, under the frame of the ERASMUS program;
  • counseling the students and the academic/non-academic staff about the international opportunities (exchange programs, professional networks, etc.);
  • taking part at international events and professional networks (such as The International Relation Coordinators’ Meeting and The Annual Rectors’ Congress) for exchanges of good practices and for identifying new directions of further development and improvement;
  • increasing the number of visiting professors under the frame of the ERASMUS program, as a part of the internationalization at home strategy;
  • expanding the number of incoming students by adapting our curriculum to the demands of the international music realm;
  • organizing welcoming events for integrating the international students into the academic community of UNMB.
